Same Problem with Rashes
Oct 21, 2004,01:13 AM
I understand this problem with skin rashes reacting to leather watch bands is not uncommon. I also developed such an allergy after years of wearing leather bands with no problem. I now wear only metal bands (Patek 5036, etc.). I did put a hypoalleregenic band on an Audemars which was giving me trouble, and the problem seemed to go away. But I sold the watch and can not report long term results. I am told by some that the crocodile bands are more likely to cause the rash than the cowhide leathers. I have also heard that the perspiration reacts with the dyes and causes the rash. It's a tough problem for watch lovers.

By: Nigel24 : April 27th, 2024-18:16
Dear Aram I have had similar issues and I now use on various watches a Hirsch performance strap like the “Paul” or “Ian” model as they do smart leather and gator straps but which are waterproof totally and have a rubber back that is well designed to avoid...
